Welcome to Elmhurst Elementary
OUR MISSION
The Elmhurst community is a team of students, teachers, staff, and families that works together and values each student for their unique qualities and diverse backgrounds. Every student will be given a safe, healthy, nurturing environment on which to learn grade level standards. Intervention programs have been developed for students needing extra support. We embrace the building of self-esteem in each child by advancing respect of self and others.
Elmhurst Teams up with the Ventura Tree Alliance
16 New trees were planted on the Elmhurst Elementary campus to provide much-needed shade. However, so much more came out of this project, including art and science lessons and community building! The classes were able to name their trees, and they came up with some very creative names! One tree, in particular, "the Zephyr" tree (a magnolia), was dedicated to Zephyr, an Elmhurst student who passed away earlier this year. Such a touching and healing moment for the school. Thank you to the Ventura Tree Alliance Ventura, CA California ReLeaf and Edison International for the trees, dedication, and time! Thank you to Supervisor Matt LaVere and VUSD Board of Education Trustee Sabrena Rodriguez for joining us today as well! Finally, a huge shoutout to our Facilities team for all of their work.
