School Counseling
Elementary school counseling is part of the general educational program that is available to all students. School counselors help students by removing barriers to academic achievement, supporting social/emotional development, and preparing them for career and college readiness. School counselors deliver services through school-wide activities (such as Bully Prevention), classroom lessons, small groups, and short term individual counseling. Small groups and individual counseling are not therapy but rather offer extra support and strategies to assist students in being successful at school. School staff, families, and students themselves may request counseling support. Parents or guardians must sign the counseling permission form if their students are to receive group or individual counseling. Please contact your school counselor for more information.
